Totalitarian: a form of government in which the ruler is an absolute dictator
Fascism: An authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization.
Hitler: Leader of the Nazi party, prime minister/dictator of Germany during WW2
Nazism: a form of socialism featuring racism and expansionism and obedience to a strong leader
Francisco Franco: A Spanish military leader and statesman, who ruled as the dictator of Spain from 1936 until his death, came to power during the Spanish civil war.

Consider the Significance of ‘Origins’ for Stephen Dedalus, 1. Consider the significance of ‘origins’ for Stephen Dedalus, in James Joyce’s A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, and for Murphy, in Samuel Beckett’s Murphy.

Dante Alighieri once wrote,
“Consider your origins: you were not made to lives lives as brutes, but to follow virtue knowledge.”

Upon reading this quotation, I was instantly reminded of the cases of Stephen Dedlaus from Joyce’s, The Portrait of the artist and Murphy of Beckett’s Murphy. Both characters portray a charismatic quality which causes us as readers to become interested in discovering the origins of these characters and how has it affected them or molded them into the people they are.

1984: The Message Nineteen eighty four is a famous novel written in 1949 by George Orwell. This novel has been studied and analysed throughout history. Its content may be fiction, but this fictional world is not far from our own real world. There have been extreme totalitarian systems were people have suffered the dejection of death, lack of food, hatred, torture and hopelessness, just like the INGSOC totalitarian system referred in the novel.

* Out of the 10 surprising facts about money, I found number 8 to be the most disturbing. The Fed creates money by changing a number in the computer system. What is stopping the Fed from wiping out the deficit in the system by merely changing a number in the system to reflect being in the Black instead of Being in the Red. The money has to come from somewhere else and I understand it is through the purchase of Government Securities, but I do not see how much that affects the money that is being circulated in the economy..
